Yesterday (Thurs Oct 9) Dr. John Chittick was interviewed by WAVY-TV News in Norfolk, VA. You can find that interview here: http://wavy.com/2014/10/09/hampton-roads-doctor-heads-to-africa-despite-ebola-fears/

Today (Friday Oct 10)  After a series of local TV reports that concentrated on  the Ebola outbreak; Dr. Chittick explained to the masses on TV news that he is taking every precaution during this extremely risky trip. Dr. Chittick mentioned people should be worried less about his health and focus more on the mission - African youth are dying from HIV/AIDS in West Africa, the Ebola outbreak adds insult to injury. Critics have questioned Dr. Chittick's travel plans to an area of the world. They voice this; that American youth are in need - why is he going there? TeenAIDS and Dr. Chittick focus all year round on the youth of America and the work is self-evident.

Currently, Dr. Chittick is awaiting his delayed flight at Norfolk International Airport.
This 2014 West Africa Trip is marking 88 countries visited to date by Dr. John Chittick.

Today (Oct 7th, 2014) I am busy preparing for my Africa trip which will take me to areas of extreme poverty, terrorist activity and Ebola outbreaks. This is by far my riskiest trip I have ever undertaken. I will be traveling to 4 countries in West Africa - Algeria, Burkina Faso, Niger and the Ivory Coast. These countries are in need of HIV/AIDS education among other types of infectious disease education and treatment. I strictly provide education, not treatment of viruses. I am a doctor of education and thus my work will be with young people, teaching them how to prevent contracting the HIV virus.
